I have a question, in these sentences ( 今日は、近所にある神社に初めて行きました ), ( 今日は、いつもの散歩道にある神社に行ってみました) is the purpose of using aru to locate the shrine?

Hi Majd! Yes, you can use ○○にある to explain the location of something. For example, I can say キッチンにある椅子を持ってきて (bring me the chair in the kitchen) or 学校にある本 (the book at the school). ^_^
